Build Elementalist Saelana / Elestra

2 posts in this topic

Ici je vous propose les builds des deux meilleurs Elementalist a mes yeux ^^ (Saleana , et Elestra ) j'ai suivi le build de saleana pour mon elem

Here's the Elemental Lord Guide me and my friend made... Don't have to follow it in toto, but just read along to enlighten yourself a bit...

- dont ask me for vids... my lappy can't handle it... and I dont have much knowledge on pvp so dont ask me bout that either...

To start off let me explain a bit of the general T4 change to the Elemental Lord Class:

  • Burn Damage formula changed to matk for the % amplification part with additional, unlike T3 wherein its usually 50% of the last hit... (Ex: T3 Flame road Lv 3 17k last hit = 8500 burn damage, T4 FR assuming matk is 4000*.05= 200+236 = 436) huge difference right?
  • Freeze damage amplification from T3 50% retained in T4 unlike the announcement of it being reduced to 30%
  • Freeze damage amplification cap of 100% meaning 2 freeze stacks only will have an effect. unlike previous T3 wherein it is possible for all freeze layers to take effect...
  • Intellect stacking nerf, we ELs depend on this to further amplify our damages, especially in raid parties, since you cannot stack it anymore with other party members using the same suffix but duration is only refreshed... although dual int for weapons stack...
  • Freezing Shield will be changed from freeze to frostbite only
  • Fiery vortex godly burn damage nerf, constant 33929 may seem high still, but in the long run its not, besides we can do waaay more than that now...
  • Glacial Spike is now a default skill... xD

Sad isn't it?... no matter, ELs are still powerful, and still considered as a Damage class (for the fire part anyway),

Freeze Stacking

This is a concept that entails both the classes Saleana and Elestra... This is our tool to improve damages by adding layers of ice with the freezing skills... each layer adds 50% more damage but with the T4 update we have a cap of 100%, meaning we can only keep 2 layers at a time... any higher than that is considered null... there are a total of 6 skills that can freeze so far with 50 cap (60 cap adds 1 more with freezing field EX (5s))... Glacial Spike (4s), Glacial Wave (6s at lvl 7), Blizzard (10s), Ice Barrier (2.5s), Ice Spear (3s at lvl 1)

Saleana only has limited options but enough to achieve the 100% stack... Elestra has all the options, so she can keep the monster frozen with 2 layers for a longer time...

General Principles of Freeze Stacking:

1. Freeze from the same skill does not add a layer, only refreshes the duration, hence you hearing the break of ice.

2. As from what I stated earlier, we can only get 100% damage amplification, meaning only 2 layers will take effect, any more than that is considered null.

3. Freeze from the same skill casted by another EL is also considered as not adding a layer but only to refresh the duration.

4. the skills with -ice resist will prolong the duration by a bit. every -10% ice resist induced adds .5 sec more duration if I'm not mistaken.

5. freeze duration is capped at 10secs, so inducing -ice resist to a freeze duration more than 10 sec (eg. Blizzard) will stay as 10 sec for the effect... and the monster is already considered unfrozen even if he is still under the frozen status visually.

6. Freeze also increases the target's SA... so you cannot sometimes interrupt their skills...

Saleana

She's still the most powerful among her sisters, dealing heavy nuke damage with fire spells, while letting freezing spells boost it further. Still maintaining a DPS position even with heavy nerfs to the class. Credits to saurus for some of the research in the skills (but I try to test it on my own as well)

Proposed Skill Build: (has an excess of 3 sp in the EL tree, adjust accordingly)

561366_3092666415772_235813189_n.jpg

Skill Tree Explanation:

Since skills now are usually lame at low levels, they gave heavy boosts in skill damage at levels 6, 11 and 16 (tested by Chaose5 with FU skills, and I noticed this as well) so its better to go pure than hybrid (or better have few but maxed skills rather than many low leveled skills)

I made this skill base to support a pure fire build that mostly concentrates on fire spells and only having fire atk as an element pot... I'll try to explain the pros and cons of the skills to help you make a choice with skill leveling...

  • Passives - max since they more useful than before but you may want to decrease some of them to make way for poison missile
  • Void Blast 6 - turns out to be a nice spell to use, dishes good output when you want to do long range casting, does big damage even if its neutral... you may wanna add more points here if you use it often (personally by higher levels I barely use this already but since we need to expend 45 sp in the sorc tree, well leave it as a filler or switch to poison missile if you want but I chose this one since it dishes high damage)...
  • Glacial Spike 17 - now that this spell increases freezing chance every level (21% at max), dishes great damage and has short cooldown, still is one of the best spells to spam...
  • Fireball 12 - still as deadly as ever, one of the top notch dps skills for ELs, so its best to max...
  • Inferno 11 - this skill sucks at low levels, so its very unimpressive, but improves nicely as you level it... still a nice skill for long range hitting but you can move the points to frozen spikes if you're not using this spell much... (so far damage of this one gets really better, but frozen spikes can still topple this skill)
  • Firewall 9 - you may find this spell dishing even better damage than inferno at low levels... still maintains its usefulness... and since dungeons are way mobby, you will find this spell a saving grace... the growth of this spell is not that high so you may opt to leave it at 1 as well if you need sp for other skills...
  • Fire Shield 1 - since the damage reduction of this spell only grows by 3% each level... not worth maxing, since IMO I only need it for added SA... but it may still be of use if you equip the fire shield plate and add more points here, anyway some protection is better than none...
  • Flame Road 7 - really weak at low levels, but once you increase this skill, it gets very deadly... even with a hit restriction this spell still does monstrous damage and also one of the best skills to spam in mobby places... a must max for any EL...
  • Fiery vortex - definitely way lame, still does better actual damage output than T3 though but the core power of this skill is the heavy burn damage nerfed in T4 to a mere 33k... you might want to use blizzard instead for the 10 second freeze, especially in raid and nest parties if the boss is freezable...
  • Flame spark 1 - still a good long range spell to use, you may want to max this instead for a 2x boost (Saurus) but I dont think its that big compared to the other fire skills... 1 is good enough imo...
  • Frost Wind 1 - adds -30% ice resist, best left at 1 since the damage isnt impressive... nice to use to lengthen the duration of freeze status...
  • Icy shards 1 - filler spell, damage not as impressive as frozen spikes...
  • Freezing Field 1 - another filler spell, for long range inducing of - 30% ice resist... same function as frost wind...
  • Frozen Spikes 1 - does very good damage (pretty much the dps spell in the ice tree), even with a hit restriction, it even does better output than inferno (and since its ice, added that it doesnt crit much) so even if its an ice spell, recommended to replace inferno if you find it proper... more so if you plan to wear U and L ranks or any gear with both fire and ice pots...
  • Phoenix Storm 7 - this became even more of a dps spell, and very fast casting... one of the most used spells in battle... a must max...
  • Ignite 7 - since burn damage usually sucks, Ignite got more useful, and since its cd is reduced a lot, you can use this if your enemies aren't dead still... but its better to keep the burn damage for bosses (unless you're sure its dead once you use ignite) to activate hellfire... nice finisher/mob killer if flame road or any other fire spell didnt kill them yet...
  • Glacial Wave 7 - still one of the best used spells to amplify your damages...this spell also hits harder now but that is not its main concern...
  • Hellfire 1 - same function and activation as with T3... activates on burned targets with fire spells only
  • Blizzard 1 - why learn this too?... more of a support skill when partying... this spell has the longest freeze duration too so you can still chain some fire spells afterward while boosting the party's damages... damage is more powerful now but since we concentrate on fire and Saleanas dont really max crit coz of hellfire, not really for damaging...
  • Burning Hand 1 - you'll never really notice this one... but you might if you're mindful of the numbers as its the only huge fire damage there, plus you see it going on cd... its potency depends on how strong the fire spells are, so learning this skill is not a waste of sp...
  • Rolling Lava 1 - does nice damage in long range... the summoning and rolling hits arent as powerful as the last explosive hit (the last one is definitely very noticable, since its way big, 1 digit more than the previous ones)... one of the dps skills of Saleanas...

Skill Plate Choices:

Depends on your mostly used skill... but preferably you must have one of these plates since they dish the most output among the the other skills:

Phoenix Storm - 20% damage

Flame Road - 20% damage

Rolling Lava - 20% damage

Fireball - 20% damage

You may also choose from these plates if it suits your play style (or once we get the cash shop heraldry expansion you can add these plates too):

Fire Shield - 15% damage reduction plate for added survivability

Frozen Spikes - 20% damage if you got this one maxed

Ignite - 20% damage since you will tend to use this often

Stat enhancement plates will still follow the same T3 standards so no need for explanation...

Gear Suffixes:

  • Secondary Weapon - Intellect (same function as always)
  • Main Weapon - Intellect (Update: dual int still stacks but it will still not stack with others using int suffix)
  • Armors minus gloves: Intellect (more base damage and mp), Wind (more crit)
  • Gloves: Iron Wall or Tent (defense)

Gameplay:

  • Main role of shortening the battle duration by dishing powerful damage... (so its quite a requirement to have good gear or the best gear you could possibly get)
  • Initial damage amplifying combo of inducing -30% ice resist by frost wind or freezing field to prolong the freeze durations then add 2 layers of ice from Glacial spike and Glacial wave... best for bosses...
  • If boss is unfreezable then skip the freezing parts and get right with damaging or when you know you dont have much time to do that combo...
  • secondary role of stacker, which is why we have freezing skills, to boost the party's damage output and self...
  • know what skill is the best to use for the situation at hand... lack of efficient skill usage is not an excuse for an EL...

Elestra

She can play various roles depending on build, either as DPS or damage booster... but still she has more ways to keep the enemy frozen than her sister Saleana...

Notes:

  • -Ice resist% (from frostbite status) do not stack, they only overwrite each other.
  • stated most of the freezing skill guidelines above and the freeze amp cap.

Proposed Skill Builds:

Fire Type Build (aka Fire Elestra)

- follows the Saleana build, which focuses more on fire to dish damage and ice only as freezing spells or fillers

(has an excess of 3 sp in the EL tree, adjust accordingly)

380735_3094614424471_1168902958_n.jpg

Skill Explanation:

  • Glacial Spike 17 - still one of the best skills to spam in the sorceress tree...
  • Void Blast 6 - filler to get the 45 sp requirement... its pretty strong anyway, but you might not use it much in the long run...
  • Passives - max since they more useful than before but you may want to decrease some of them to make way for poison missile... (but I'd rather take a small perma boost than a skill I wont use much)
  • Fireball 12 - even without the ex passive this skill dishes nice output... must max...
  • Inferno 1 - needs too much sp to get a better output so better left as prereq...
  • Firewall 1 - good enough even at lvl 1... not that big of a growth anyway...
  • Flame Road 7 - still the best mob clearing/ dps skill to learn in the fire tree... must max...
  • Frost Wind 1 - adding -30% ice resist... apart from that its nothing special...
  • Flame spark 1 - nice long range skill... not really big in terms of damage though... you can take this out if you want...
  • Icy Shards 6 - to unlock ex passive, and this skill does nice damage anyway, but not maxed as it wont crit much unless you will get max crit and have ice pots as well then you may max this one...
  • Glacial Wave 7 - who wouldnt learn this anyway... a must have for freezing purposes...
  • Frozen Spikes 9 - still one of the best skills to max in the Ice tree even if it doesnt crit much unless you got max crit then this is deadly...
  • freezing Field 1 - prerequisite and used to add - ice resist for prolonging freeze duration...
  • Freezing Shield 1 - will not freeze for long, and success rate isnt high... best not to rely on this to freeze...
  • Chilling mist 1- prereq to learn blizzard... not really that powerful in comparison to the rest of the EL skills... not big of a growth with higher levels...
  • Hellfire - well you are more on fire skills so this one gives more crit edge... xD
  • Blizzard - one of the best freezing spells available... and dishes big damage if you have ice pots and have high crit...
  • Ice Barrier 1- keeps you protected for a bit, but mostly used to freeze enemies, but timing this skill to freeze is quite hard... the hp of this barrier isnt really high depending on your magic atk values...
  • Ice Injection 1- can freeze anyone within range... so its pretty deadly... and shoots a lot of spikes, so the 40% freezing chance is still a sure hit... this can be deadly if the monster gets full hits from this spell...

Note: you can opt to skip both chilling mist and freezing shield, learn fiery and blizzard to unlock the Elestra Skills... I made that build since freezing shield is still considered as a freezing spell so its still useful and skipping chilling mist is also the same as learning fiery...

Ice Type Build (aka the Stacker build)

- focuses more on Ice, still having a few fire skills for damage dishing... her main role in the party is to boost damage through freezing ( can only do up to 2 at a time only), disabling though slows by inflicting frostbite status, stops enemies through freezing... her main advantage over Saleana as they can do this as well is that she can keep the enemies frozen for a longer duration as she has more freezing spells...

Proposed Skill Build: (has an excess of 3 sp in the EL tree, adjust accordingly)

255212_3116499171576_1596467859_n.jpg

Skill Explanation:

  • Passives - still maxed... same as other builds...
  • Glacial Spike 17 - still one of the best skills to spam in the sorceress tree... one of your freezing spells...
  • Poison Missile 6 - flinching and other purposes...
  • Fireball 1, Inferno 1, Firewall 1, Fire Shield 1 - prereqs...
  • Flame Road 7 - still your main mob clearing spell...
  • Shatter 7 - still a powerful spell to learn more so if you got high crit... well level this if you know when to use it... shattering your ice stacked monster is a big no no for an Elestra...
  • Icy shards 12 - with the ex passive... decent enough damage and wont make you that vulnerable... can also stall enemies that are flippable
  • Freezing Field 11 - use in combo with shatter, and nice for its long ice resist duration to power up your stronger ice skills... doesnt really dish that high of damage, but seems to get a slight damage range increase at lvl 6... visually nothing new though... can be reduced to 1 and be placed in other skills if need be...
  • Frozen Spikes 9 - your star DPS skill for the EL ice tree... with enough crit this dishes mega damage...
  • Chilling Mist 6 - still dishes decent damage, but comparing it to the other skills this really is lame damage wise...
  • Glacial Wave 7- one of the freezing spells and pretty much the easiest one to use...
  • Freezing Shield 3 - serves both as a freezing spell and protection... better with shield plate...
  • Blizzard -having the longest freeze duration, serves both as a damage skill and a freezing spell...
  • hellfire - if you dont have max crit, well it helps giving more crit to fire skills... anyway this doesnt consume any sp...
  • Ice Barrier - another freezing spell... will only activate if you consumed the shield's hp or the duration expires... hard to time with the other freezing skills so needs a bit of mastering...
  • Ice Injection - both a damaging skill and a freezing spell (although getting the best damage output from this skill will require a really big boss)... can be the wider version of glacial wave since it can hit targets in a wider distance... xD

Skill Plate Choices:

Fire Type - Almost same as Saleana (minus the Rolling Lava plate obviously)... also depends on most used skill but these are more recommended...

Phoenix Storm - 20% damage

Flame Road - 20% damage

Ignite - 20% damage

Fireball - 20% damage

Ice Type - will use more of Ice skill plates... depends on your preference... added Freezing Shield here since a stacker will usually get close and personal to add freezing layers so added defense is more of survivability...

Freezing Shield - 15% damage reduction

Icy Shards - 20% damage

Frozen Spikes - 20% damage

Then these plates may also be taken into consideration:

Fire Type:

Fire Shield/Freezing Shield - 15% damage reduction (defense)

Frozen Spikes - 20% damage (useful if you got ice pots)

Ice Type:

Ice Injection - 20% damage (since this skill can only dish good damage output with big bosses)

Flame Road/Phoenix Storm - 20% damage (If you want more DPS as an Ice type, which is only useful if you got both fire and ice pots)

Gear Suffixes:

same as Saleana...

Gameplay:

  • Changed to adding 2 layers at a time before dishing any damage from T3's trying to stack all 6 in one go... so Stacking is still a must... anyway explained some pointers for freeze stacking...
  • Fire Elestra is the same as Saleana in a lot of ways... so I wont need to explain further, aside from the fact that Elestra has more freezing spells and lesser DPS skills...
  • generally the main role of Elestra is damage booster, so learn to time your freezing skills well... secondary will be damage...
  • Since Elestras need to get up close and personal most of the time to do an efficient stack, you need the added defense of the shield skills to survive more (and of course almost 0 interruption)...
